Can somebody help me with converting MPEG files into MP4 files?

Hello, I'm totally new using iPods, so any info would be greatly appreciated. I downloaded some music videos, in MPEG and Windows Format. So I would like it if someone can tell me the name of a site where I can perhaps convert these files into MP4 files compatible for my iPod, OR, can someone direct me to a site where I can download, for free, music videos that will fit my iPod? Thanks.
