iPod on the fritz?!

Alright...to put is simply...my 'pod is on the fritz...

When I downloaded an upgrade for my mini's software, it said to connect to an external power source...but I do not have an adapter...and now my mini won't work, and it shows an adapter and an outlet in the mini's screen...

Is there a way to fix this problem rather than buying an adapter?!

hopefully there is a way around this, maybe you can boot the ipod into disk mode by restarting it and then do it... but I think it's a scheme for apple to sell they're chargers...

i here, if you very slowly plug in the usb cable while its attached to the ipod there is a point where it will only get power, and it will work as if if you had charged it with the wall. try that, if that doenst work, i got more ideas ;-p
