hello all

great site, hope you can help me with this v annoying problem

I recently bought a 4gb mini for my girlfriend from ebay.
and after restoring this mini back to factory settings using updater, it now comes up with "Attempting to copy to the disk "Azpod failed.unknown error occurred -124 (my girlfs name is Az,hence the name :p )

I have a 60gb beast, and it works just fine,i have been using the same machine to try and transfer tracks to this mini?

can anyone shed any light or perhaps give me a fix please?

Many thanks

Jim

I was having the same problem. What happened, in my case, is ITunes 7 and XP and my ipod didn't play well together. Went looking for all sorts of help, no one had any, except the guy that charges to repair, so I simply uninstalled itunes and downgraded back to itunes 6 and have had 0 problems.

If you do this, google itunes 6, find a download site that is NOT apple. dl it. Uninstall your current itunes (that is IF you are using the new 7) completely. There is a folder for itines in both "Program Files" and under "My Documents". Kill both of those AFTER you remove itunes via the add/remove progams.

Install 6 and go to town. You will have to import all of your tunes, but it DOES work.

I am using a 1st Gen. Ipod Mini 4gig and have had 0 problems since i downgraded.

Hi - I had the same error message. Turned out that the Maxtor USB disk on which my itunes library sits had timed out (but a lot of the contents were cached locally so it wasn't totally obvious). Rebooted machine and USB disk and all was well (not until I'd restored my ipod and run a disk check though).
