Ipod needs restored everytime its plugged in

Hi
My Mini is often not recognised by itunes. When it eventually is, it needs to be restored twice before the restore ipod message goes away. Once this has happened, i need to plug it in and take it off numerous times before itunes realises it is there. Then i need re upload all my songs! Im getting sick of doing this as it takes a minimum of 30 mins before my ipod is updated! The computer realises the Ipod is there so obviously the cable isnt faulty. It also comes up with a pre run window thing that says would i like to manage the device with real player or do nothing. I dont choose anything when this appears, just click it off.

Any help would be appreciated!

It is now also coming up with a message saying the ipod cannot be read or written to and has had to stop copying songs to it:confused:

Try the iPod on a different PC, such as a friend's, and see if the problems transfer over. If so, send your iPod to Apple for service. If not, reformat your PC.

i have sent it to apple and they say that their is no problem. Yet it does it on my friends computer too...i just dont know what to do!
