Select button wont work

I bought an ipod mini 1st gen with a broken clcikwheel wire I than installed a new clickwheel. Ever since i installed it the select button will not work. The weird thing is i can still reset the ipod. im desperate to get it working so im up to any suggestios. Also i allready resored it.

well i would but the clickwheel will still reset itself to its probably not the clickwheel

I dunno... very strange. You say you can reset it, but you can't use the select button like in the menus? Do you have the latest updater? If not, try restoring it with the newest one.

i actually did restore it but i dont know if its the latest verison i downloaded it the other day so its proably the latest or maby i need an older version becasue its a 1st gen

i have to push that topic, ive got an Ipod Video that has got a broken clickwheel, ive bought a replacement part, but i was already suspecting that the problem was not with the old click wheel, because i was able to reset my ipod.
Anyway, installing the new Click wheel didnt make any difference, so im asking if there could be a problem with the logic board, or even better, a software problem?
