My wife's iPod screwed up with static noise or no sound at all.
First I thought it was the headphone jack, but after an extensive dismantle- play - test session, I couldn't confirm that. I mean, I could trigger the crackling by squeezing the iPod almost anywhere - not just by touching the headphone jack.
