_Does anyone know where to get cheap ipod mini 1st gen clickwheels or even the wires?_

______Story_______________________________________ _____________

OK.... my recent post was if a 1st gen ipod mini will work with a 2nd gen ipod mini, It ended up not working when i tested it after it came in the mail. The previous owner broke the clickwheels's, wire so i took the 4 screws out only to reveil 2 parts. One was the scroller clicking thing (the white round circle used to naviagate through the ipod) Than there was the wire wich connected to the metal peice wich unclipped from the wheel. I took my 2nd wheels wire and it didnt work. The wheels made a clikking sound and woke up the ipod but nothing else will work. I figure the parts are incompatable.

So does anyone no where to get a 1st gen ipod mini clickwheel for cheap or just the wire even.

yah the only problem is that i originaly bought an ipod mini for $50 with a broken hard drive from a kid at school. Than while taking it apart ended up breaking the top headphone jack peice, so i needed a new motherboard. Unable to find a mini with a broken screen at a reasonable price, ended up waisting $100 on another mini that needs a new clickwheel ( previous owner broke the wire). Tried my 2nd gen clickwheel wouldnt work. Looked for the wire on ebay found just the whole clickwheel for like $50 which i dont feel like spending becuase thats like $200 with everything i spent. Im so stupid i tried to save money and I'm going to end up spending more.

Id really appreciate it if anyone can tell me where to get a 1st gen clickwheel wire cheap or even the whole clickwheel cheap. Maby someone can send the wire in the mail or we can trade my 2nd gen clickwheel for 1st gen clickwheel (maby someones having the same troubles).

Go to Ebay and search for an:
a) Ipod mini repair
b) Ipod mini as is
c) Ipod mini broken
and look for a mini with a description that has no issues with the clickwheel
and 0 Bids and ask the seller if he or she would accept an offer of $45.00
shipped for the broken Ipod. If you can get a response before anyone bids you're in luck. You can possibly get an Ipod with a good clickwheel and other good parts
for $45.00. I know because I have done this and seems to work for me.
Good Luck and let us know if this works for you.
