No Battery message when half the bar full

Hey guys, for about a month now, my ipod mini has been quite frustrating. When my battery bar is about at the middle and I change songs a lot or something, the "no more battery" message pops up and I have to hold, hold off, and hold on middle and menu buttons.. it gets anoying.

I was wondering if anyone of you people have been experiencing the same problem and happen to know how to fix it, please tell me.

Also, one of my friends is also experiencing the same problem.. I believe she's had her ipod mini for about the same time as me.. which is about 8-10 months. And I wouldn't think it's a battery problem, since it says the battery should be good for 18 months.

P.S. I also updated my ipod software.

Well Apple says that the battery meter is only an estimate, and it isn't even close to what's actually left in the battery some of the time, like when you reset the iPod it with a full battery it says something like half battery for a while. I would suspect that it might be a battery problem.

Yeah, but I'm able to use it after the error.. and that for about a couple of hours..
