I have a Ipod mini witch worked fine before upgrade to the latest firmware.
now after the upgrade i have porblems with turning it on. I've opened the ipod, took out the battery connecter put it in again and the ipod startsup and works fine. but when i turn it off by pressing the play button for 3secs i cant turn it on again( when it goes to sleep mode it won't come back). i have to diconnect the battery again or wait until the battery is empty.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Tried to downgrade to 2005-06-26 and still the same problem.. :(

Try doing a Restore from the updater. I'm not sure if it will work but it's worth a try. Remember to backup your music!

Ok, well downgrading isn't going to make a difference. I'm going to look at my sources and see if I can find a solution to this problem for you. It will just take a couple hours lol

Mine has a similar problem ever since a software upgrade; keeps displaying a ac adapter logo, i bought the ac adapter, and it still shows it, no charge! Windows, itunes won't recognize my ipod mini. The restore program won't work because the program won't recognize the ipod connected to the computer! I tried everything. . . well at least I think I have. I would greatly appreciate some help, thanks

When it displays the A/C adapter icon, it means plug it into the wall and FAST. Otherwise, the firmware reflash will not happen, and your iPod will be wiped blank. Plug it into the computer. Start it up, and at the apple logo press menu and play/pause. This will send it into disk mode. the computer should recognize it only as a hard-drive. Restore the iPod, and directly after plug it in to A/C. Let it reboot and Voila! it should be back to normal (minus any songs)
