Problem with ipod mini

My ipod mini 4gb hasnt been working lately. not sure why. When i turn it on it shows an apple sign then shows an ipod with a sad face and triange with a "!" in it and it says www.apple.com/support/ipod at the bottom. Ive tried everything it tells you to on the support website. I held select and menu until the apple showed then held play and select but it never went into disk mode. When i plug it into my computer or speakers it shows like it is starting to charge but the screen gets stuck at the first bar and doesnt move. My computer doesnt detect it at all, doesnt show up in itunes or my computer. What is wrong???

yeah i did that. and they gave me a brand new ipod!

it probably would have been easier for you to have posted links to apple directly. Even then, apple tells you everything you already knew. We need something that is new, radical, and proven to work.
