iPod Mini Possessed

My Mini just starts playing songs whenever it wants, even if I have it off and the hold switch on.

When I'm listening to songs on shuffle, after an indeterminate amount of time it will start playing songs from the very beginning of my playlist, in order.

I don't like how it just starts itself up in the middle of the night and wastes my battery.
